Meet the Plett Ratepayers' new Chairman
· PBRRA

Dear Members,
As an update, Steve Pattinson has stepped down as Chairman of the Plett Ratepayers Association after a long and successful tenure. He joined the Executive Committee in February 2021 and became chairman in February 2023. Steve is appreciated for his strong leadership, energy, perseverance and good humour. He will continue as an advisor to EXCO and will stay involved with airport activities. If you would like to thank Steve for his considerable service to the community, you can forward it to info@plettratepayers.co.za.
The Plett Ratepayers have unanimously elected Tony Blignaut as its new chairman. Tony has been a resident of Plett since 1996 and has brought significant investment in tourist activities to Plettenberg Bay. He is CEO and founder of Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and Jukani. In this time he has invested millions in marketing not only his own business, locally and internationally, but also Plettenberg Bay as a destination.

Tony brings a wealth of business experience and civic involvement to his new position, including chairing The Crags Rural Association for many years and starting the first Fire Protection Association in South Africa. For years he provided a firefighting service to Kurland Village using Monkeyland's privately-owned firefighting equipment and staff. His businesses provide meaningful and sustainable jobs.
He is a Springbok shottist and has won numerous world titles in various shotgun categories. He has funded and established a world class clay pigeon shooting club in Plettenberg Bay.
We look forward to Tony's contribution to the Association.
Kind regards,
Executive Committee
